Brishti Biswas

Home Accessory Designer
Born in Kolkata and brought up in Jalandhar, Brishti is an architect-turned-furniture and home goods designer, with a postgraduate degree in Furniture and Interior Design from NID Ahmedabad. She has always been intrigued by the sculptural qualities of architecture and furniture, and how form can shape the experience of a space.
Her journey into design began with a Bachelor’s in Architecture in Jaipur, where she was introduced to the city’s rich craft culture. Over time, this developed into a deeper interest in Indian crafts and making, which she brings into her practice through an exploration of Indian essence, functionality, and everyday objects, particularly what she calls “space accessories.”
Her practice is grounded in a strong understanding of industrial production and an enthusiasm for hands-on making. She enjoys working closely with materials, processes, and people on the shop floor, moving fluidly between conceptualising, designing, and making.
