BRISHTI BISWAS
Indian Furniture Designer
Born in Kolkata and brought up in Jalandhar, Brishti is a young architect and a furniture design student, currently pursuing Master of Design (Semester 5) in Furniture and Interior Design from NID, Ahmedabad, completing her graduation project (self-sponsored). She has always been intrigued by the sculptural attributes of both architecture and furniture. Pursuing her bachelors in architecture from Jaipur became the backdrop for her initiation into design and an introduction to the city’s myriad craft culture. Over time, she has developed an affinity for Indian crafts and have strived to bring an amalgamation of the Indian essence and functionality into her designs of everyday household objects, esp. 'space accessories'. Her core strength lies in managing industrial production. She enjoys rigorous hands-on work.
